Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the constructivist approach to education by analyzing the philosophical, psychological and social theories which are its starting point, and which outline the context of its understanding and application in education. As an educational philosophy, constructivism has a specific understanding of the nature of thinking and knowledge, of the relationship between truth and opinion, of the role of language and dialogue, etc. The main psychological concepts that outline the constructivist understanding of the learning process and the roles of the student and the teacher in it are presented. An attempt has been made to determine its place and role in modern education, as one of the possible approaches in training.
