Summary/Abstract: This article stresses the importance of the “Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann in Bulgaria” International Interdisciplinary Academic Forum in the context of EU cultural policies and the importance of stimulating cultural variety and sustaining cultural and historical heritage on a national and European scale. In this case, the “Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann in Bulgaria” International Interdisciplinary Academic Forum in Plovdiv serves as an example of the unifying force of the great European minds across the centuries. It also demonstrates how Hoffmann’s German work from 200 years ago finds a home in an ancient “European Capital of Culture” – in this case, the city of Plovdiv.
