Summary/Abstract: Rural areas are part of regional development at national and local level. These are areas where approximately one third of the population in the Community countries live. These areas are specialized in socio-economic activities, mostly related to agricultural processes. In recent decades, they have begun to be considered as territories on which other processes can develop, outside the generally accepted conventional agricultural activities. The aim of the study is to make a comparative analysis of non-financial enterprises in some of the sectors, in the process of diversification in the rural municipalities of the South-Central Region for a certain time period 2010-2023. When analyzing the statistical numerical information, a Localization Index (IL) is applied, which is not a constant value. The selected sectors: Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (A), Construction (F), Hotel Industry (I 55), Restaurant Industry (I 56) and Education (P) with the corresponding non-financial enterprises are fundamental for the socio-economic development of society in the indicated territories.
