Summary/Abstract: This thesis investigates the implementation of ERP SAP automation within the accounting departments of Cargill and ANH, emphasizing the improvements in process efficiency and adherence to accounting standards. The study addresses the challenges encountered during the transition, the solutions applied, and the quantifiable benefits realized. The automation of routine accounting tasks, such as data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliation, significantly reduced manual errors and increased processing speed. The introduction of real-time financial reporting provided immediate access to financial data, facilitating quicker decision-making and more accurate financial forecasting. The standardization of accounting procedures across all departments ensured consistency and compliance with international accounting standards (IAS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Additionally, the system maintained a comprehensive audit trail, enhancing transparency and simplifying audits and regulatory compliance. The benefits to Cargill ANH were substantial. Automation led to a reduction in labor costs and minimized the risk of costly errors. The accuracy of financial records improved due to standardized processes and real-time data access. Enhanced decision-making was supported by the availability of accurate and timely financial information, which aided in better strategic planning and operational decisions.
