Summary/Abstract: The UN's 2030 Agenda and the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) 2021- 2026 signal a transformative era for the public sector. The evolution of accountability and social reporting within the judiciary aims to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency and foster dialogue with society. This article investigates the implementation of socio-environmental and sustainability reporting practices in Italian judicial offices, specifically the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate (NAAD). The research reveals that cultural barriers and organizational resistance are fundamental challenges in implementing social reporting within the NAAD. By examining these aspects and their impact on accountability practices, the study aims to provide insights for future exploration. Understanding the cultural dynamics and organizational structures that impede or facilitate social reporting is essential to ensuring effective communication and transparency within the judicial sector.
