Summary/Abstract: Baja California has been facing a severe security crisis for several decades. The objective of this studyis to describe the crime rates before, during and after the pandemic in the state. The question guiding theresearch is: did the COVID-19 pandemic alter the incidence of crime in the state? Among the findings,a threefold reading was obtained: two stable trends (a drop in injuries and rapes and a rise in intentionalhomicides) and a standard deviation related to the pandemic (kidnappings and robberies).
