Summary/Abstract: Following the US presidential election of 2020, some researchers considered that Donald Trump lostbecause of his mismanagement of the health crisis. Yet not everyone agreed with this evaluation. Thisarticle aims to deepen our understanding of the potential impact of the pandemic on electoral results,using Honduras as an example. It asks how relevant the issue of COVID-19 was in the Honduran politicalbattle and what narratives regarding the pandemic were presented by the main presidential candidates.After analyzing their communications on social media, the article concludes that the pandemicwas a secondary issue, overshadowed by more pressing structural challenges.
