Summary/Abstract: In 2023, when our Alma Mater – the Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” is commemorating its 135th anniversary, the semi-centennial of the graduation of the first class of the “journalism” major (which was restored in 1968 and began in 1952) was marked. The text presents the reflections on higher education and the profession of some of the first graduates in 1973 from the “press”, the “radio”, and the“television” profiles. A year later, in 1974, the “Journalism” department of the Faculty of Slavic Philology grew into an independent faculty with four departments, which in 2024 turned half a century old.
