Summary/Abstract: As a result of Romania's integration into the European Union, a new state actor will participate in the migration phenomenon that is taking place not only in Europe, but also at a global level. Migration is more than a phenomenon, it is a process that can be studied from a theoretical point of view, in order to manage it from a practical point of view. Migration has both advantages and disadvantages, the perspectives of analysis being general, with concrete aspects, but also with particularities. Romania's role within the EU after 2007, as a stabilizing actor, facilitating economic progress (and not only), provider of security at the eastern border and responsible for managing the migration phenomenon, will be developed within the framework of this work. Practically, this phenomenon will be analyzed from several perspectives, including the international one, precisely out of the desire to demonstrate that migration does not only concern the interests of Romania, but also of the EU.
