Summary/Abstract: Comprising multiple sectors – aviation, maritime traffic, railways, pipelines, highways, and mass public transport – the diversity and scale of the transport sector make it vital for the national economy and security, including military mobilization and deployment. Critical transport infrastructures are essential pillars of a state's security and economy; however, they are constantly exposed to risks, particularly in the context of terrorist threats. This paper explores the vulnerabilities of these infrastructures, analyzing relevant cases and highlighting their impact on human lives, economy, and national stability. It also underlines the necessity of an integrated approach to minimize the devastating effects of terrorism on transport systems and ensure their continuous operation within an increasingly complex and unpredictable global landscape.
