Summary/Abstract: This study explores the nature, causes and implications of large-scale tectonic disturbances in the international security environment. These disruptions, defined as systemic events that produce structural changes in the global security architecture, can be generated by geopolitical, economic, technological, climatic, and health factors. The paper analyses the typology of these phenomena, their impact on international stability and institutional response mechanisms. Why “tectonics”? Although the name is related to the movements of the Earth’s crust, it can be considered that such coagulations and movements may also be observed in terms of masses (peoples), their relations with each other and movements in the geopolitical space.
