Summary/Abstract: This article argues for the necessity of developing a Romanian national security strategy that reflects the strategic importance of the Danube and the Black Sea in the context of regional security. The research is descriptive in nature, aiming to identify the relevant characteristics and dimensions of the subject through the analysis of factual data and empirical observations. Furthermore, the article highlights that the integration of the Danube River and its Delta into a strategy dedicated to the Black Sea has been a constant concern for Romanian decision-makers. In the current geopolitical context, it is argued that such a strategy could be aligned with and integrated into the strategic initiatives of NATO and the European Union, contributing to the modernization and integrated efficiency of the Romanian Naval Forces.
