Summary/Abstract: The report is an attempt to reveal, describe and forecast significant trends in the main activities of the security and public order services, in particular – of the intelligence and counterintelligence bodies in our country. Based on personal analysis, experience in security services and scientific research for more than 30 years, the challenges and necessary changes in several significant areas and main tasks are revealed, with emphasis on the environment for conducting intelligence-operational work.
