Summary/Abstract: Maintaining a balance between work and life after work is challenging for all employees, even more so for police officers. Based on the Job Demands-Resources theory, the present study aimed to investigate the effect of psychological capital as a personal resource on work engagement. It also tested the mediating role of life crafting for police officers in Romania. This was a study with two measurements. For the beginning, we measured the psychological capital and after a month, life crafting and work engagement. The sample for this study was made of 275 operative police officers from Romania (T1) and 220 police officers at T2. The obtained results supported our initial hypotheses, indicating that psychological capital positively predicts work engagement, and the relationship is partially mediated by life crafting.
