Summary/Abstract: This article presents the communication strategies on Twitter of the former Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva during his time in prison, between April 2018 and November 2019. During this period, his public speech was limited, so digital social networks were a crucial tool for his position in the political field. The objective of this work is to understand the way that this politician communicates with tweets, more specifically those including the word povo (people). We concluded with our analysis, a rapprochement of his image with that of the people in his publications which is part of a political and electoral purpose. This analysis mobilizes the tools of texts’ statistical analysis as well as the notions of the analysis of digital discourse.
