Summary/Abstract: When considering the causes that contribute to the appearance of youth offenders behavior, along with family and peers, a significant place is given to education, specifically the school as a factor from the child's immediate social environment. Behavioral disorders that children show at school are an indicator of the occurrence and development of juvenile delinquency. This paper presents the results of the analysis of behavioral disorders of youth offenders manifested at school. The research included 100 youth offenders registered in the last 10 years in the Republic of Srpska. The aim of the work is to identify and determine the school situation of juvenile offenders, and this was done through the analysis of the following elements: low grades, problematic behavior, absenteeism, interruption of schooling, transfer to another school. In the research, conclusions were reached about the connection between the school situation and the appearance and development of youth offend behavior. Educational failure visible through low grades, unjustified absences from classes, transfer to another school are circumstances that are either indicators of risky behavior or circumstances that lead minors to criminal behavior. The obtained results represent a contribution to the understanding of juvenile offenders behavior by pointing to the school as a significant factor of risk and protection in the development of this unwanted social phenomenon, as well as the importance of the school for the early recognition of children's behavior disorders. The special significance of the research is in highlighting the need to create and implement preventive programs in the school and community.
