Summary/Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased cybercrime, with phishing emerging as a major threat. Cybercriminals exploited the rapid shift to remote work and increased online activity, using deceptive tactics like phishing emails, SMS scams, and fake websites to steal sensitive information. Advanced phishing techniques, such as spear phishing, BEC, and malware distribution, targeted individuals and organizations globally, including the healthcare sector. Preventing phishing requires a multi-faceted approach: user education, adoption of security measures like 2FA, and international collaboration through frameworks like the Budapest Convention. Raising awareness and implementing robust security practices are essential to safeguarding personal and organizational data in the digital age.
