Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the relationship between security and migration, a complex phenomenon with a significant impact on contemporary societies. Migration is approached from the perspective of state security, human security and the security of host communities, exploring the social, economic and political implications of this process. Romania, as a European state with a double dimension of migration – massive emigration and increasing immigration – faces challenges such as labor shortages, migrant integration and combating human trafficking. In addition to the difficulties, migration offers economic opportunities and cultural diversity. The paper emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach, combining national security with respect for migrants’ rights, promoting effective integration and social cohesion policies.
