Summary/Abstract: Summing up the experience of the EU-Russia cooperation within the Common Spaces the following might be the main three condusions: First, the Common Spaces structure is a well established institutional framework to maintain a wide-ranging political and sectoral dialogue between the EU and Russia, and should be preserved; Second, except for some positive samples of progress achieved on sedoral issues CS has brought rather modest outcomes in relation to the initial expectations of both sides; and Third, the reason for the limited results of the dialogue and cooperation within all four CS is of a political nature: a lack of political will or mutual trust, inability of both sides to agree on terms and values, Russia's reluctance to accept EU standards, etc.
