Summary/Abstract: With its global reach, the Internet has facilitated the spread of extreme ideologies of terrorist groups that use cyber space in different ways. Internet, digital technologies and social media play an increasing role in the process of violent radicalization and indoctrination of young people around the world, which is one of the potentially big security challenges of the countries of the world. The process of online radicalization of young people is a global and multiple phenomenon in which social media are used as a strategic tool for attempting to encourage violent behavior and is a worryingly growing trend, especially since the creation of the Islamic State. The Islamic State effectively used the influence of social networks and the Internet as a global medium in order to promote its principles, its struggle and its ideals. Active use of social medias such as this group has managed to reach new sympathizers and fans around the globe and, in particular, to a large number of young people.
