Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with a problem of historical positioning of arts with anti-communist aims in Yugoslavian culture during the ’80s. The case of Dictionary of Technology has been seen as paradigmatic for current comprehension of the nature of a Belgrade new wave subculture of that period, particularly understanding of its leading role in the last ten years of Tito’s Yugoslavia: its mystical ideas, affirmation of Early-Christian doctrines mixed with punk attitudes and ideas of Zen Buddhism, awakening of new bourgeois spirit and the like. In a word, Dictionary of Technology represents a very special case of a postmodern turnover – “postmodern romanticism”, as once Sreten Ugričić has named this cultural phenomenon.
