Summary/Abstract: The acceptance of useful world achievements for the rational management of our natural resources was built into the foundations of the birth of the modern Croatian state, back in the 19th century. Let this, and all subsequent experiences, be an incentive for us to clearly demonstrate our sovereignty in the area of natural resource management. The problem is not only in the current limitations of standardized collection, organization and processing of information about our natural resources, which is the topic of this presentation, but is additionally increased by the fact that institutions that have systematically dealt with resources, and thus with the private and public use of this information, are one by one becoming private and even foreign property, which means the loss of the legal basis for the state's management of this public good. So far, part of the information has been irreversibly destroyed in these processes, and for a significant part, the future and public availability is uncertain.
