Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this research is to describe the social space of parliamentary speeches. There are two key aspects of the social space mentioned in the article. First aspect refers to the audience of parliamentary performances. Second aspect raises the question of proxemics in the Polish Sejm. Physical space with its centre, peripherals, backstage and borders influence upon social interaction. This research highlights the importance of the social space in shaping the character and quality of Parliamentary debate.
