Summary/Abstract: The economic and social progress recorded during the last century has been achieved at the expense of the environment. Increasing consumption of natural resources is necessary to support economic activity. Inclusive green growth should reconcile the urgent need for intensive economic growth and poverty reduction in developing countries with the need to preserve the environment and prevent the occurrence of irreversible harmful environmental consequences and losses. The paper analyzes the movement of the global material footprint, as well as how economic development is reflected in the consumption of natural resources and what kind of pressure it creates on climate change. Climate finance will be defined and it will be pointed out that adapting and neutralizing the negative effects of climate change requires the mobilization of significant financial resources. The paper will present recommendations for strengthening the growth of green financing and define green financial instruments.
