Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the scientific paper is to present the possibility of using small modular reactors (SMRs) as a mean of achieving the EU's objectives („Fit for 55“, due until 2030) and the EU's main objective of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. A comparative analysis will be made, through the use of qualitative and quantitative methods, to explain to what extent SMR is the appropriate solution for achieving the above-mentioned goals. For that, the scientific article will aim to provide new knowledge and/or methods in the chosen topic.
