Summary/Abstract: The report, titled International Stage: The Bulgarian Economy in the Race for Competitiveness in the European Union, examines Bulgaria's position within the framework of European economic competitiveness. The primary analysis is based on Porter's Competitiveness Model, which explores the key factors shaping the competitiveness of the Bulgarian economy—market structure, resource availability, innovation capacity, and investment climate. In addition to this analysis, the report includes data from various international indices such as the Global Competitiveness Index, Human Development Index, Corruption Perceptions Index, and Global Innovation Index. These indices provide an objective basis for comparing Bulgaria with other European Union member states, shedding light not only on economic challenges but also on the social and political obstacles the country faces. The report evaluates Bulgaria's opportunities for sustainable development and its ability to adapt to the rapidly evolving global economy within the European Union, aiming to offer insights into improving the country’s position in the European market, with a focus on innovation, business climate, and resource management.
