Summary/Abstract: The green and digital transitions are interconnected drivers of economic transformation in the European Union. Digital technologies facilitate the achievement of the goals of the green transition by improving energy efficiency, optimizing the use of resources and promoting a circular economy. At the same time, the green transition requires digital technologies to become more sustainable and energy efficient. This article reviews the literature and analyzes EU policies, exploring the interrelationships between the two transitions. The main results show that while the two processes are mutually supportive, challenges such as energy consumption in the digital sector and e-waste management can hinder the green transition. Integrated policies are needed that combine technological progress with sustainable EU development.
