Summary/Abstract: The quantitative approach is applied more frequently in determining trends in international trade, through which more specific guidelines can be formed. One of the most applied models for trend analysis is the trade intensity index. The purpose of the paper is to present the international trade models for Bulgaria and European Union in terms of the trade intensity indices and to analyze what the impact on their economies is (on Bulgarian and on European Union).
