Summary/Abstract: Interventions intended to achieve effectiveness in the field of social policies must be aimed at areas where the roots of inequality are formed. Gender inequalities within the family and household represent an area that is less permeable to more immediate interventions of institutional practices and policies, and thus constitutes an area of ​​generation and reproduction of inequality. However, at the same time, the family and the household can also be areas of change in gender relations (Babović 2010: 302). Of course, shaping social structures and relationships is a far more complex process than the simple deterministic model offered. However, this does not absolve the makers of social policies of responsibility for not undertaking comprehensive and systematic efforts to change the conditions for the establishment and reproduction of gender inequalities in society.
