Summary/Abstract: This paper analyzes the Čelebići camp in the municipality of Konjic during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina (1992–1995), focusing on its role in ethnic and political conflicts at the local and wider level. Through the analysis of verdicts of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY), testimonies of prisoners and the available literature, the specifics of this camp, the nature of the crimes committed against the civilian population of Serbian nationality and the conditions of detention are examined. The paper specifically analyzes the individual experiences of prisoners in order to shed light on the broader context of ethnic tensions and conflicts in Konjic. The aim of the paper is to contribute to a better understanding of the complexity of local relations during the war and their place in the wider framework of the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
