Summary/Abstract: The rapid evolution of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data, quantum computing, and cybersecurity is transforming intelligence collection and defence strategies. These innovations offer unprecedented opportunities for intelligence agencies by enhancing the speed and efficiency of data collection and analysis, enabling better forecasting of threats and real-time monitoring. However, they also introduce challenges like algorithmic bias, ethical concerns, and security risks, particularly in balancing intelligence needs with privacy rights. Ukraine's use of smartphones and digital tools in its defence against Russian aggression exemplifies the operational potential of these technologies, particularly in rapidly gathering and transmitting battlefield intelligence. As technologies continue to evolve, intelligence agencies must remain agile, ensuring responsible use while adapting to the fast-changing landscape of global competition and security. Whoever becomes the leader in developing, understanding, and integrating these technologies will gain a strategic advantage on the intelligence battlefield.
