Summary/Abstract: Intelligent machines are poised to revolutionize warfare. While traditional machines have been mere extensions of human capabilities, these new intelligent systems hold the ability to learn, adapt, and exhibit unexpected behaviors. It's tempting to attribute human-like qualities to them, but this would be a mistake. These machines operate on the battlefield on fundamentally different logic and reasoning processes, making them unique actors apt to introduce disruptive capabilities that will reshape the future of warfare. This first part of the article analyses the views of different scientists and authors related to the Artificial Intelligence-assisted strategic and tactic decision making. The second part of the study presents the key findings of two recent situations when predictive algorithm informed political and military decision making. The paper concludes with considerations on the future of warfare, taking into account the scientific advancements, novel means of warfare, and the need for organizational adaptation to technological evolution.
