Summary/Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing modern warfare, building on a history of military technological advancements. Initially limited to logistics and basic decision-making, AI has evolved to enable missile guidance, drone operations, cybersecurity and intelligence gathering. It supports rapid data processing for situational awareness, enhances cyber defense and aids autonomous weapon systems. Ethical and legal concerns, including accountability, civilian safety and automation bias, present challenges. The international community faces urgent needs for regulatory frameworks to govern AI use in warfare and ensure responsible innovation, with AI poised to reshape global security dynamics.
