Summary/Abstract: The ongoing conflict in Ukraine has marked a significant turning point in modern warfare, with drones playing a central role in military operations. Both Ukraine and Russia have increasingly relied on unmanned systems for intelligence gathering and direct combat operations. The war has driven rapid innovations in drone technology, including the integration of the artificial intelligence and the development of cost-effective unmanned aerial and surface vehicles. The conflict underscores the growing role of unmanned systems in modern warfare. It is prompting both state and non-state actors to innovate and adapt. As drone warfare expands, it reshapes military doctrine, global arms races, and geopolitical dynamics. The global proliferation of drones presents both opportunities for military advantage and significant security challenges, setting a precedent for future conflicts worldwide.
