Summary/Abstract: The paper highlights the need to innovate and invest in cybersecurity tools and services for small and medium-sized enterprises in Bulgaria, which are most affected by the constantly evolving threat environment driven by advances in technology. It presents the current trends in cybersecurity and cyber resilience, the benefits and threats of new technologies. An analysis is made of the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in implementing innovative activities and digitalization of their processes and services. Results and recommendations for cyber protection and R&D investment are outlined to ensure the security and sustainability of digital assets in an ever-changing technological environment and achieve business success.
