Summary/Abstract: This paper highlights the need for cyber protection and application of new technologies in cyber security in our increasingly digitalized world. It examines the development, application and potential of blockchain technology to date, as well as its nature. It presents the possible benefits and challenges of implementing blockchain applications and innovations in cybersecurity, drawn from the experiences of blockchain innovations and applications already implemented in other sectors of our lives. The work is of a review rather than analytical nature.
