Summary/Abstract: The Arctic, a strategically contested space for various powers, has often been seen as an isolated region. Climate change and the growing demand for natural resources in this region have significantly increased interest in the Arctic, leading to a race that reflects the broader evolution of the international system. The melting of the ice has opened up new trade routes and made rich natural resources accessible, transforming the region into a global geopolitical hotspot. While the United States seeks to maintain its dominance, Russia and China are expanding their presence in the Arctic, Norway wants to start deep-sea mining, and the European Commission is opening a new office in Nuuk, Greenland.
