Summary/Abstract: Crypto assets have raised a substantial interest among the general public, investment practitioners and academia upon its emergence. In this paper, we give a general overview of crypto assets and follow by presenting the results of a survey conducted among the students population. The general aim of the survey was to find out about students’ knowledge about crypto assets and their attitudes about them. The results, based on the answers of 70 students, indicate that 41% of them have invested in crypto assets. The main reasons for making this investment are high expected profitability and friends’ incentives. Most students have shown very basic knowledge about crypto assets and the majority of them share conservative opinions about crypto asset investment and their regulation and are more prone to traditional investments. The main contribution of this paper is in the scientific exploration of this under-researched area of the younger and educated population’s attitudes on contemporary investment types, but also in providing a practical insight into the target population’s crypto assets investment habits to make guidelines for future research.
