Summary/Abstract: Asian cinema skilfully deals with the screenplay of various textual samples from its own cultural field. The act of translation from the language of literature to the language of cinema/theatre on Western models is particularly provocative. It allows for original, daring, even surprising transformations of the original source. However, the tendency to preserve the cultural code remains. The present text focuses its attention on several examples, emphasizing through them the theoretical and cultural understanding of the problem of interpretation
