Summary/Abstract: Without focusing on genres that emanate violence and destruction such as action, horror, thrillers, the present study is based on the Jungian approach in a comparative analysis of blockbusters and significant works of auteur cinema. Deliberately creating Hollywood myths or trying to destroy them, filmmakers are not only subject to subconscious impulses, but also deliberately replicate patterns such as that of justified and malicious aggression in all its forms. Their personification in the images of the Enemy brings out the contents of the collective unconscious and the “rationalized” interaction between verbal and non-verbal expression of the aestheticization of screen violence and aspects of fear
