Summary/Abstract: Contemporary supply chains operating in a dynamic, and full of complex relationships global environment, must constantly seek ways to adapt to the specific requirements of the market. The ability to adapt has long since become an incredibly important attribute of contemporary supply chains. Currently, one of the key features of adaptive supply chains is also their resilience. Planning business processes in an unstable environment is not easy, because in addition to a thorough understanding of the process, it is essential to take into account the broader context in which it is embedded and the conditions that must be met for it to be implemented in the desired way that gives the expected effect. Managing operations and the supply chain in times of turbulence becomes a serious challenge. It is necessary to consider a large number of action options. Simulations, allowing to understand the consequences of possible decisions before they are made, enable the planning of the material flow process in a way that ensures its efficiency maximisation while taking into account the requirements of individual production environments. Within this activity, itis possible to plan actions in such a way as to enable their implementation in the face of unforeseen situations. The aim of the article is to define the role of simulation in shaping resilient supply chains.
