Summary/Abstract: The family is one of the most intimate social realities for us. It is perhaps the mostfamiliar social phenomenon. In all societies people start families, although often thesefamilies are different from the type of family we are used to today. Defining moreaffectively than rationally, any individual could say what a family is, this being possibledue to the fact that every person has had to deal with families in the course of his life,be it the family he was born into, by his own family, or by those in the communitywhere he lives. The family is one of the most widespread types of social groups anddespite this, the attempt to define it is not at all easy, but, on the contrary, the greatdiversity of family types that have succeeded each other over time or that coexist insocieties contemporaries, requires finding some common characteristics. In theseconditions, the role of the family in the process of raising and educating children is adecisive one. Unfortunately, modern and postmodern society brings with it majorproblems in this chapter as well. Disorganized families, families „built” on unhealthyprinciples were the basis for the development of deviant and delinquent behaviorsamong children and young people. Under these conditions, can the family and theconcept of family stop the growth of this scourge? What (more) is the role of thefamily in the process of raising and educating children.....these are some questionsthat we will try to find an answer to in this study.
