Summary/Abstract: This article aims to present and analyze language attitudes towards Portuguese language (its European variant) of Spanish-speaking students of Portuguese, based on the results of the questionnaires carried out in four Spanish Secondary Schools located close to the Spanish-Portuguese border. Firstly, the theoretical framework, the concept of language attitude and the methodology of study are introduced. Then, there are presented and analyzed the answers of the students that refer to their language attitudes towards Portuguese language, especially to the affective attitudes (if they like this language and why, why they chose to study it) and to behavioral attitudes related to the choice of language of conversation, with mutual omprehension and solutions that can be used in the situations of lack of mutual understanding
