Summary/Abstract: Setting up new businesses by young, highly educated and ambitious people is very important for the dynamic and future-oriented development of the economy, as well as for solving important social problems. The aim of the paper is to present and analyse the intentions and motives of entrepreneurship students for starting entrepreneurial activities. The main scientific discoveries in these two related fields are synthesized in the paper. An emphasis is placed on the role of entrepreneurial education and some results and conclusions of an empirical study conducted among bachelor and master degree students in the Entrepreneurship speciality at the University of National and World Economy – Sofia, Bulgaria, are presented. The importance and applicability of such research are shown.
