Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the Bulgarian realia reflected in the literary production of the school of Devol and Ohrid between the 9th and 13th centuries. The topic is presented in the context of the circulating revised ideas related to the activity of Cyril and Methodius’ disciples in the Southwest Bulgarian lands and the later contribution of their ideological successors in the Ohrid archdiocese, thereby creating an original kind of place of memory.
