Summary/Abstract: The paper identifes the critical factors in the development of public administration in Slovakia by 2030, considering human resources development, innovation, and digitization. The aim of the paper is to characterize the mission and functions of the public administration, the most signifcant trends in human resources development and measures necessary to facilitate innovations and upgrading in the public administration. The paper considers the valid legislation, data analysis and development trends in the public administration sector in Slovakia, including the quantity, quality and competitiveness of human resources potential and the digitization of public administration and the innovations in the labour market. The public administration sector performs the tasks entrusted by the state, framed, and defned by the public interest. The public administration sector has a cross-sectional character and shows intersections with other sectors.
