Summary/Abstract: People in a disadvantaged situation often face many obstacles and challenges to integrate successfully into the labour market. Understanding their needs, their specific requirements regarding working conditions and their ability to work is key precondition for overcoming the obstacles and address the challenges. In order to formulate appropriate measures and incentives, it is necessary to segment the disadvantaged people in groups with homogenous needs and abilities, so that for which of them relevant support measures for promoting their integration into the labour market to be devised. This is precisely the aim of the current paper – to suggest an approach and criteria for segmentation of the disadvantaged people in Bulgaria with the view of formulating policies and measures for promoting their inclusion in the Bulgarian labour market.
