Summary/Abstract: The research is part of the project Personal Names in Bulgaria at the beginning of the 21st century. Our efforts are focused on the task of presenting the Bulgarian personal name system at the beginning of the 21st century. The project represents a corpus-based study of the names of the newborn children in some of the largest cities of the country after Bulgaria’s accession to the EU in 2007. The study is based on statistical and linguistic analyses and presents types and forms of the personal names of Slavic origin.
