Summary/Abstract: The text focuses on the concept of post–truth as a starting point for a critical study of culture, politics and communication. Although the concept is fluid and ambiguous, it usually refers to terms such as fake news, rumors, information chaos, politically incorrect rhetoric. The tendency of post–truth politics to focus on emotional statements as a basis for building trust in the audience is studied. The connection with the Covid–19 infodemic is analyzed through the prism of emo–truth and toxic machismo as a political style.
