Summary/Abstract: Because of COVID-19 new challenges to the development and efficiency of global value chains (GVCs) appears. They are related to the innovativeness of enterprises and their current and future participation in the chains. The main goal of the paper is to analyze the challenges of COVID-19 and the attitudes towards the participation of innovative Bulgarian low-tech and high-tech enterprises in GVS. The used methods of the study are desk research, logical, inductive, deductive and comparative methods, as well as the method of case-study.
